Tami Jaegel
"Pepacton - a novel"
Author Tami Jaegel will feature her thriller, Pepacton, her second novel. She tells a heart wrenching tale of loss of family and a beloved home sparked by ruthless eminent domain to satisfy a lust for water that will never be enough. Tami lives just five miles from the Pepacton Reservoir. Her first novel is Cull.

"Legacy Lost: Assessing the Damage in the
Pepacton and Cannonsville Reservoir Basins."

This illustrated talk will cover the process by which farms, businesses, homes and community buildings were claimed and owners compensated by New York City as it constructed two massive reservoirs in Delaware County in the 1950s and ‘60s. The impact of the ‘takings’ – 6,700 claims were settled over 57 years – on individual lives, communities and the local economy, will be discussed.
Diane Galusha is the author of “Liquid Assets: A History of New York City’s Water System,” published by Purple Mountain Press. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Diane is the Middletown Town Historian and the President of the Historical Society of the Town of
Middletown.
